Crocus 'Grand maitre' - Crocus vernus 'Grand Maitre' (latin)

Geographic origins: Europe, Asia.
Adult size: Up to 12 cm.
Foliage: Deciduous.
Type of soil: All, prefers light and moist soil.
Climate: Hardy.
Position: Full sun.

Characteristics and uses:
The Crocus ‘Grand Maitre’ opens its large purple with yellow stamen goblet-shaped flowers as soon as the nicest days return.

As soon as the cold weather ends in January and February, the crocuses will open their corolla and fan out their petals to welcome the spring sunshine.
Plant the bulbs between September and December in tight groups about 10cm apart with a handful of sand. This helps them establish their roots and flower earlier. After flowering wait for the foliage to die down completely before cutting it off.
Crocuses are very happy in lawns, rockeries and pots.
