Everything about: Allium stipitatum 'Mount Everest'

Allium 'Mount Everest' - Allium stipitatum 'Mount Everest' (latin)

Adult size: Up to 100 cm.
Foliage: Deciduous.
Type of soil: Light and well drained.
Climate: Hardy.
Position: Full light.

Characteristics and uses:
The ornamental garlic 'Mount Everest' discovers a flowering in white and round umbels of about ten centimeters. Its solid upper resists the wind well. Its leaves can sometimes take on a brown/yellow color as soon as it flowers.

Plant the Allium bulbs between September and October in well-prepared soil; they should be planted at a depth of three times the size of the bulb. For the best effect, plant between 10 and 20 bulbs spaced 20cm apart.

Flowering takes place between May and July, it is a good idea to stake the tallest stems to stop them breaking in the wind. Remove the flowers as soon as they wither.
Alliums are ideal in borders, along a wall or in pots; they have many uses and produce a beautiful effect!
