Rothild Carrot - Daucus carotta (latin)

Very productive and good quality variety.
The root is large, long, and fleshy.
The flesh is colourful, fragrant, sweet, and juicy.
Appreciated for juicing and stores well.


Type of soil: Deep, light, and rich. Preferably sandy.
Sowing time: From February to August.
Harvest time: From June to November.
Site: Full sun.


Sow directly into the ground:
- Sow in rows 1 cm deep and 25 to 30 cm apart. Cover with sand or light soil.
- First time you thin out, keep one seedling every 2 to 3 cm.
- Second time you thin out, keep one seedling every 7 to 8 cm.



Care:
- Hoe and weed regularly. Water frequently in very dry weather.
- Sow with radishes, this way you will have a double crop, and you will protect the carrots from pests like spider mite.
- Protect the crop with an anti-insect netting. The carrots like garlic, onion, or leek because they protect each other from pests like flies.
