18 days Radish - Allium porrum (latin)

Early variety for a hasty or seasonal sowing. Perfect for sowing under cold frame.
This elongated radish is mainly white with a pale pink end.
It can be eaten 18 days after sprouting, they are juicy and crunchy.
Sow every 15 days, to ensure a longer harvesting period.


Type of soil: Moist, deep and sandy.
Sowing time: From February to September.
Harvest time: From March to October.
Site: Partial shade to full sun.


Sow directly in the ground:
- Sow a seed every 2 to 3cm in a 1.5cm deep furrow, cover with fine compost and water.
- Thin out if necessary to leave a plant every 3cm.
- A cloche can be used to warm early sowings.


Care and pruning:
- Keep the soil moist and sow regularly to have a continual supply.
- Harvest as required but do not wait too long because the radishes will quickly become hot.
