Area of origins : Europe, Asia.

Adult dimensions : 30 to 40 cm.

Foliage : Deciduous.

Soil type : Any.

Hardiness : Hardy.

Exposure : Partial shade to full sun.

Characteristics and uses : Early Tulips can flower as soon as March. Plant the bulbs between October and December, with the pointed end upwards, about 15 cm apart and 15 cm deep. Water just after planting, then regularly through the growing period preferably in the evening after sunset.

Early tulips are best planted in beds, rockeries as tight clumps to create an area of intense colour.

You can equally plant your tulip bulbs in pots or tubs. In dry autumns or winters some additional watering will be needed to ensure the good rooting of the bulbs and assure a good flowering.
