'Roma VF' Tomato - Allium porrum (latin)

A variety that is resistant to Verticillium and Fusarium. Produces plenty medium sized oval fruits. Firm juicy flesh of excellent quality, ideal for making tomato puree.


Type of soil: Rich and well drained. Deeply dug.
Sowing time: From the end of January to May.
Harvest time: From July onwards.
Minimum temperature: The soil temperature must be above 20°C for germination to occur.
Site: Full sun.


Sow inside:
- Sow three to four seeds in a pot. Cover lightly and water well.
- Choose the strongest plant from each pot once they have come through. Check the pots every day to ensure they are moist to avoid the plants dehydrating.
- Around March time, you can take the plants out from under cover.
- At the end of May the young plants can be planted out in the vegetable plot, make sure there is 50cm between each plant.


Care:
- Remove the side shoots and stake the plants as they grow.
- Water each plant regularly.
