Polly Plant, Alocasia amazonica - Alocasia x amazonica (latin)
Indoor plant

Recommended temperature: 18 to 22°C.
Hygrometry: Humid atmosphere.
Site: Full sun.
Geographical origins: Tropical and Subtropical areas of Asia.
Adult sizing: Height up to 60 cm.
Growth: Rapid.
Toxicity: Toxic foliage.

Properties and uses:
This Alocasia has a remarkable, extremely dark green foliage with metallic glints and silvery veins. Placed in a lounge, an office or in a bathroom it will bring in a piece of jungle to your indoors spaces. However, avoid placing in on a porous support as its leaves have the tendency to produce water drops.

Looking after advice:

The Alocasia thrives in an extremely humid atmosphere.
- Therefore you will have to keep the earth ball humid, without letting water stand in the saucer.
- It also likes water sprayed on its foliage.
- Give it a liquid fertiliser (half a dose) every fortnight from March to September.
- Re-pot your Alocacia every two years in a mix of peat, heath-peat and peat moss (Sphagnum moss).
