Diana Hibiscus or Diana Rose of Sharon –
Hibiscus syriacus or Althea frutex 'Diana' (latin)
Creator: Dr Donald Egolf in 1963.
Adult Dimensions: Height up to 2.5 m (8.2'), width up to 2 m (6.6').
Foliage : deciduous.
Soil Type: Avoid extremes.
Hardiness: Becomes hardy with age (to -16°C). Protect from frosts in early years, very resistant to pollution.
Exposure: Full sun.
Diana Hibiscus - Diana Rose of Sharon - Hibiscus syriacus 'Diana' - althea frutex 'Diana'
Characteristics and Uses:
Very beautiful abundant flowers from June until the first frosts. Cutting back should be done at the end of winter to encourage flowers. Plant alone or in a group or in a mixed flowering hedge. Can be shaped such as into a standard and is perfect for small or large gardens.

Blue Bird Hibiscus (Hibiscus syriacus 'Oiseau bleu'), lavender blue flowers from June to the first frosts.
Hamabo Hibiscus (Hibiscus syriacus 'Hamabo'), white flowers with red centers from June to the first frosts.

Red Heart Hibiscus (Hibiscus syriacus 'Red Heart'), large white flowers, red tint at the base of the petal.
Woodbridge Hibiscus (Hibiscus syriacus 'Woodbridge'), large pink flowers, red tint at the base of the petal.
