Area of origin: Mexico, Central America.
Adult size: Up to 100 cm.
Foliage: Deciduous.
Soil type: Moist and rich.
Hardiness: Not hardy (lift the tubers out in winter).

Characteristics and uses:
The cactus dahlia 'Rotterdam' is perfect for the front of a flowerbed or in a tub. Its beautiful luminous red flowers are shown off by its lovely brown leaves, which will not cease to amaze you!

The dormant tubers are planted out in the spring, from February to end of May, and offer you a display of magnificent flowers from the summer through to the first frosts.
Dahlias like to be watered when it is hot, their roots kept in the shade and their heads in the sun.

Dead-heading on a regular basis will promote the apparition of new blooms and staking is a must for the tallest varieties.
