Characteristics and Uses: The Common Box is a slow growing plant that lives a very long time. It can be pruned into conical, pyramidal or ball shapes. It is commonly called 'topiary art' an art close to vegetal sculpting. It needs to be pruned at the end of spring and at the beginning of autumn. Choose preferably a cloudy day, indeed prune after a rainy day.

Regardless of its shape, it will be a focal point in your entrance or your garden. It has become an undisputed specimen for balconies decoration.

The Common Box is one of those plants that can be given as present all year round and never goes out of fashion.
